Code of Conduct Reminder

CODE OF CONDUCT REMINDER

As a reminder, all parents, players, coaches, and spectators agreed to the RSPW Code of Conduct as part of registration and participation in our program.

The Code of Conduct specifically prohibits:

“Using bigoted, demeaning, abusive, disruptive, or intimidating language and/or gestures.”

This includes racial slurs or racially derogatory language of any kind. There is no place for this behavior in youth sports, whether it is directed at a player, coach, official, parent, spectator, or opposing team.

Racial slurs will not be tolerated. If a referee or other authorized game official hears a player use a racial slur, the official may remove that player from the game in accordance with applicable game and league rules. RSPW may also review the incident and impose additional disciplinary action in accordance with the RSPW Code of Conduct.

If you hear or witness this type of behavior during a game, please follow the proper protocol:

Notify the sideline judge.

The sideline judge will notify the white hat (head referee).

The white hat will notify the head coaches.

The officiating crew will document the incident in the referee report.

If additional assistance or follow-up is needed after the game, please go to renosparkspopwarner.com, click Contact in the upper-right corner, and submit a message through the contact form.

Please allow the officials and head coaches to address the situation through the proper channels rather than confronting players, coaches, parents, or spectators directly. Please do not post to social media as this is a Zero Tolerance Violation.
